Rangers midfielder Glen Kamara is being eyed for a loan-to-buy transfer deal by La Liga outfit Sevilla, according to Vamos mi Sevilla.
The 27-year-old Fin may become surplus to requirements at Ibrox with the Rangers midfield signings of Todd Cantwell and potentially Nicolas Raskin.
Vamos mi Sevilla reports that there is talk around Sevilla of a loan-to-buy deal for the Kamara who would do the box-to-box duties Sevilla’s head coach Jorge Sampaoli craves.
“Sevilla FC is still looking for a midfielder to come to alleviate the fiasco of the frustrated signing of Reine-Adelaide, in this winter transfer window,” as quoted by Vamos mi Sevilla.
“The last name that has been playing with force is that of the Glasgow Rangers midfielder, Glen Kamara.
“There is talk of a loan with a purchase option for the summer, for a player valued at 7.5 million euros, who would do the box-to-box function demanded by Sampaoli.”
Up and down.
Kamara’s form has been up and down this season but it has improved since the arrival of Beale at Ibrox following Giovanni van Bronckhorst’s sacking.
If a decent offer came in for him it’s likely he would be sold and Rangers would be right to do so, Kamara is entering the tail end of his career.
And does he fit the mould of the type of talent Beale wants in his starting XI? Probably not, if signings like Cantwell are anything to go by.
Rangers could still demand a nice little sum for Kamara though and he’s definitely a player with credibility that the Gers shouldn’t let go on the cheap.
Kamara was class under Steven Gerrard but he isn’t the same player as he was back then and it only seems like those kinds of playing days are on their way out.
A move away for Kamara from Ibrox suits all parties involved in this one, get it done and reinvest the fees into a younger, brighter talent.
In other Rangers news, a club in Europe holds the option to re-sign a player from Ibrox whenever they like.
